أكد سيلفيو برلوسكوني رئيس الوزراء الإيطالي ورئيس نادي آي سي ميلان أنه يشعر بالندم لإخفاق النادي في ضم المهاجم السويدي زلاتان إبراهيموفيتش إلى صفوفه قبل عامين عندما كان لاعباً في صفوف يوفنتوس. وأوضح برلوسكوني في مقابلة مع صحيفة "كورييري ديللو سبورت" الإيطالية الاثنين أن ميلان خاض منافسة حادة مع جاره إنتر ميلان لضم اللاعب إلا أن تورط الفريق في فضيحة التلاعب في نتائج المباريات عام 2006 قلب الموازين. وقال برلوسكوني: "كنا قد توصلنا لاتفاق لضمه بالفعل قبل أن تبدأ قصة خصم ثماني نقاط من رصيدنا، لم نكن نعرف وقتها هل سنشارك في دوري أبطال أوروبا أم لا، وبالتالي توقفت المفاوضات، وهو أمر يؤسفني لأنني تنبأت له بمستقبل باهر منذ فترة طويلة". وانتقل إبراهيموفيتش (27 عاماً) إلى إنتر ميلان صيف 2006 مقابل 4.5 مليون يورو لفريقه السابق يوفنتوس أكثر المتورطين في قضية التلاعب والتي جرد على إثرها من لقبه كبطل للدوري كما صدر قرار بهبوطه إلى دوري الدرجة الثانية آنذاك. وفي سياق آخر، أكد برلوسكوني أنه يختلف في الرأي مع كارلو أنشيلوتي المدير الفني لميلان فيما يتعلق بمركز النجم البرازيلي رونالدينيو إذ يرى مالك النادي ضرورة أن يترك اللاعب الجانب الأيسر ويلعب قرب مرمى الخصم للاستفادة من قدرته على الحصول على ضربات الجزاء.
