Faithful are the wounds of a friend. False friends are like our shadow, keeping close to us while we walk in the sunshine, but leaving us the instant we cross into the shade. A friendship can weather most things and thrive in thin soil; but it needs a little mulch of letters and phone calls and small, silly presents every so often - just to save it from drying out completely. The rule of friendship means there should be mutual sympathy between them, each supplying what the other lacks and trying to benefit the other, always using friendly and sincere words. One of the surest evidences of friendship that one individual can display to another is telling him gently of a fault. If any other can excel it, it is listening to such a disclosure with gratitude, and amending the error. A single rose can be my garden... a single friend, my world. Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow; Don't walk behind me, I may not lead; Walk beside me, and just be my friend. My friends, there are no friends. Most people enjoy the inferiority of their best friends. Life is nothing without friendship. A friend is one who knows us, but loves us anyway.
